We have developed great relationships with our loyal clients and are so thankful for all of the support we have been shown. Our shop feels more like a home than a store at times. We also are known for our displays and merchandising. We are set apart from other stores as we carry so many unique items. We are proud of our plant knowledge and want our customers to feel informed about caring for their plants until it becomes second nature. We are known for our wide selection of plants, and our hand-crafted container gardens and terrariums. We believe in surrounding yourself with plants, natural elements, finely crafted goods, and objects of beauty to enhance your daily being. We want our visitors to be transfixed and transported upon entering our doors. The beauty of the juxtaposition between life and death is prominent throughout the shop. Seed to stem celebrates the beauty and perfection of the natural world, boasting unusual botanicals, terrariums, natural wonders, home accessories, handmade goods and antiques. Seed to Stem is a carefully curated lifestyle and plant boutique located in Worcester, Massachusetts. It was a struggle working “day-jobs” while trying to build a business, as well as starting with no real working capitol. We started Seed to Stem out of pocket while Virginia was working as a veterinary technician and Candace was working as an executive assistant at a very large company.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way? Both Virginia and Candace have a love for house-plants, nature, interior design, travel, antiques, and merchandising. Quickly they realized that they needed a brick and mortar store to house their goods and Seed to Stem. With the success of the craft shows, they began incorporating natural items such as skulls and crystals, antiques, and handmade goods into their offerings. Virginia grew up in her mother’s flower shop, and Candace worked at the shop within the greenhouses, where a love for plants developed. Soon after they realized they had a talent for creating these tiny worlds and started bringing their work to local craft shows where they were received with enthusiasm. Seed to stem found its beginnings in 2011 when two best friends started making terrariums for fun in their spare time. Today we’d like to introduce you to Virginia Orlando and Candace Atchue.
